About the Role
C-Street City Market is currently looking for the right candidate for the 2022 market season. Applications will be accepted until April 25, 2022.
This unique opportunity is for an entry level assistantship to learn and grow with our vibrant market in a fun and lively environment. Our manager and assistant manager sets the tone and represents the market both internally to vendors and externally to shoppers. We also have a close relationship with the businesses and restaurants on our shared Commercial Street (AKA C-Street) and share in local events and happenings.
This position is for the person who has a passion for assisting and promoting local farmers, backyard gardeners, crafters, makers, bakers and fledgling and established entrepreneurs to grow and thrive and be successful. Their success is ours and our communities success.
If you wish to make a difference in our C-Street community, obtain valuable experience and are willing to commit to Saturdays and Thursday evenings from April through October, rain or shine, plus some off hours, all for humble wages, we welcome you to fill out an application. Responsibilities of this position will be to be available and helping oversee all market activities on Saturday and Thursday evenings during market hours, special events and prior to and after close of the market. Our market season runs from April 2 - October 29. Saturday hours will be approximately 8am - 3pm and Thursday hours will be approximately 3pm - 9pm, or hours set by the Manager.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
Ensuring the market is operated in a safe and efficient manner.
Handle all emergencies that arise.
Monitor vendor products and ensure compliance with guidelines.
Monitor food vendor compliance with local health department requirements
Answer/address all shopper and vendor questions/complaints/concerns.
Assist with assigning spots to vendors and manage overall market layout.
Assist with market set up and take down.
Oversee the market information booth. Collect day vendor fees. Handle Snap and market tokens.
Possess computer/smart phone skills.
Assist with maintaining and promoting our website, Facebook page, Instagram page and web listings for the market.

The C-Street City Market unites our urban communities with our local farmers and artists. We are an urban Farmers' Market located in Springfield, MO on Historic C-Street. The market is open April-October, Saturdays from 9am-2pm and Thursdays from 4pm-8pm on the corner of Commercial & Jefferson Ave. We create a lively, fun, and healthy community combining wholesome foods and crafts from local farmers and artists in a family-friendly, pet-friendly environment for our C-Street guests, residents, nearby neighborhoods, and community at large!
